Santiago Hernandez

Dr. Santiago Hernandez is a Full Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Coruna. He has been visiting researcher in the University of Southampton (UK) and the University of California in Santa Barbara (USA). He has been supervisor of thirteen PhD thesis and has been the leader of more than forty research projects in aircraft and aerospace engineering funded by the UE or the Spanish government, including several collaborations with NASA and AIRBUS, contributing extensively in the A380, A350, A340, A30X and A320neo programmes. He has two patents in collaboration with AIRBUS, has authored five books and participated with a chapter in other four books. He is and has been Associated Editor of several scientific Journals including the AIAA Journal of Aircraft and the International Journal of Aerospace Engineering and has been Guess Editor of six special issues of the Journal on Advances in Engineering Software (Elsevier). He is the author of more than three hundred papers and publications in international conferences and has organized and lectured in courses in many European countries, Asia and America. He was the designer and founder of two wind tunnels of the University of Coruna and is the Director of the Master on Materials and Structures for Aerospace Engineering in his university. He has served as Adviser in Scientific and Academic Committees of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Universities and was the President of the Selection Committee of Full Professors in the Politecnico di Milano and member of the Selection Committee of Associate Professors in the University of Coimbra (Portugal). He is a Fellow of ASCE and IABSE and an Associate Fellow of AIAA.

Félix Nieto

Dr. Félix Nieto is an Associate Professor of the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Coruna. He has been visiting researcher at the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and the University of Nottingham (UK). He has been the leader in several research projects including a joint initiative between the University of Coruna and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). He has investigated extensively in computational fluid dynamics and multidisciplinary optimization and supervised PhD students in those topics. He has authored a book and has about seventy publications in journals and international conferences He has been Associate Editor of one scientific journal and member of the Scientific Committee of several international conferences, including the biennial forum Advances in Fluid Mechanics.

Jacobo Diaz

Dr. Jacobo Diaz is an Associate Professor of the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Coruna and was visiting researcher in the Delft Technical University. He has been the leader of several research projects including collaborations with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has a vast experience in multi-objective optimization in deterministic and probabilistic formulations and has supervised PhD students in that topics. He has a large experience in aircraft engineering projects including collaborations with AIRBUS in the A380 and A350 programme and in national and UE funded projects as MAAXIMUS and STRATOFLY. He has two patents in collaboration with AIRBUS and has about eighty publications in journals and international conferences and has served several times as member of the Scientific Committee of international conferences including the biennial HPSM/OPTI.

Aitor Baldomir

Dr. Aitor Baldomir is an Associate Professor of the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Coruna. He has a wide experience in research projects in aircraft engineering including collaborations with AIRBUS in the A380, A350, A340, A30X and A320neo programmes. He has participated also in Spanish and UE aerospace projects including (DREPANO, MAAXIMUS and STRATOFLY) and has investigated extensively in deterministic and probabilistic formulations of multidisciplinary optimization including a joint research between the University of Coruna and the University of Cambridge (UK) and has supervised PhD students in that topics. He has two patents in collaboration with AIRBUS and has about eighty publications in journals and international conferences and has served several times as member of the Scientific Committee of international Conferences including the biennial event HPSM/OPTI.
